There's this bit in Dog Soldiers that I can't get out of my head. They're fighting off the wolves downstairs, hear something above them then remember the sarge is upstairs wounded and defenseless. They rush up to see a werewolf looming from the corner of the room, stretching out and covering everything. It's such a gut thing. The 'figure at the foot of the bed' recurs over and over, in mythology, psychology, demonology, etc etc. To see it captured so perfectly in a movie is scary. Genuinely frightening. That wolf fucker looked bigger than the room.
