Last year I fucked myself up reading Transmetropolitan in a couple of days. That sorta shit's not good for your head. Warren Ellis breaks brains.
So I probably shouldn't be reading on of his other series: The Authority. It's a superhero story sort of like the Justice League line, where a group of heroes have decided to take responsibility for the Earth. What happens when you have absolute authority over the world? These guys don't lock the baddies up. If you fuck with them they'll fuck you up. The leader of the enemy in the issue I'm reading just got smashed in half and the heartland of his power, Sicily, was removed from the earth and placed in Space.
One thing that's getting me is the Batman and Superman analogues are lovers. It's funny because they may as well have been in Justice League, but here it's treated straight, not as a joke at all. Makes me grin.
