Just so you know: instant coffee is the devil. I swear I have no idea how I used to worship this shit. But that's all I can afford right now. It's actually around the same price as grounds, maybe even a little more expensive. But since I broke my plunger last night it's all I've got.
It's the second fucking plunger I've broken. First one I knocked into the sink and it split. And well, the new place is a bit fucky in a lot of areas. The hot water tap isn't properly attached. It doesn't bother me except if I get a little careless I knock it off into the water. First time it happened I thought 'hey, I better be careful, that could smash my coffee plunger'. When it really happened and after the swearing died down I was pretty resigned to it. From now on the tap handle sits on the windowsill until after I'm done.
Another thing I learnt is trying to fish broken glass out of hot water that's covered in suds is not something you really want to be doing. Especially with how easily hot, soft, wet fingers can be cut.
