I'm reading through the Swamp Thing comics I downloaded last week. There's about 200 in all. I always thought the whole thing was by Alan Moore, but the first 20 or so comics aren't. And man, are they fucken awful. They're so heavy-handed, ridiculous and cliched. I read a couple and then just skipped over the rest until I got to where Moore started. And yeah, it's a hell of a lot better. Fucking fantastic, even. I can see how it all spawned the Vertigo line, Sandman, Hellblazer and all thier children.
