After that I got on the tram back to Malvern. I wasn't trying to get the tram back to Malvern. I usually get on a tram at Windsor and let it take me wherever. I'll always end up somewhere near home.
I sat next to an old woman, with my back to her so I could sit with a comic on my lap and not be crowding. I looked up now and then to make sure I hadn't missed my stop but mostly I read Hellboy. After a while the woman beside me started fidgetting, so I moved around further to let her out. She didn't move to get up. I turned around as far as I could and continued reading. Then she goes to me "I was just seeing if we were in Malvern yet." I looked up and told her it was the next stop. "Oh yes," she goes. Then in a wavering voice she goes "What's the comic called?" I nearly laughed. I told her it was called Hellboy and said, "It's a charming name, isn't it?" She got off at the same stop as me.
