After we left Centrelink, me and Cat went up Chapel Street to the best second hand book store I've ever been in. It's even better than the one in Seddon. It had the biggest literature section I've ever seen in a bookstore. There were three cats sleeping in the window even though it wasn't sunny, and they all looked fat, spoiled and peaceful. I bought a Patrick White novel.
When we got home there was a message waiting for me. I have to go to the Supermarket for my induction tomorrow night. I have to take with me my personal and banking information. I will have a lot more money than I'm used to, even with the fine removed from my fortnightly welfare payment. I will also have a real job. This is something I've never had before. This is the other extreme.
