It's been about two weeks since I've blogged, and for most of that I haven't had access to the internet. I've been stuck in Portland with no way to contact the outside world. Though I did benefit from the experience with some insight: I think I might be addicted to the internet.
When I first started house hunting I'd assumed I wouldn't be doing much more time in Portland, so I got my phone line disconnected and my dial up account closed. Then stuff happened which meant I had to go back and stay there for a while. You can imagine my horror when I'd realised what I'd done. I think my low point was when I strung a cord from my bedroom to the phone connection in the kitchen to see if I could still access my dailup account through my parents phone line. Of course, it didn't work.
