On the way up here I read 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil'. I bought it second hand in a store that I only just recently found out about in Portland. It's second hand, has a big sticker on the front that says its signed by the author, and it's signed by the author. When I bought it the woman in the store stumbled over her words, trying to tell me something about the book. She said 'It's very...' a coupla times without finishing. Then she told me I'd find out.
It turns out the main character's gay, and one of the important supporting characters is a man who's having hormone treatment in order to be more like a woman. The book was pretty good.
