I've got duties to attend to today. There's this guy living here in Portland, his name's Jason. He was in my writing course at TAFE in Warrnambool. We went to the same University course I did. He passed it instead of bombing out like I did and made a real, live journalist out of himself. He's now the chief of staff down on the local newpaper. We've sort of been in contact over the past two years, but nothing regular.
He saw Mum and Dad in town last week, and they told him what's going on in my life. They told me he wanted to see me for lunch before I go. I'm thinking of going in and chasing him down today. Plus that gives me a chance to have some nice nachos.
