The assignment I'm working on at the moment involves entering and reading back ascii with an assembler program. It's nothing much special, just proving I know a couple of the ropes. One thing I've found out is that 'ascii' has two meanings. There's the one I'm interested in which is an acronym for 'American Standard Code for Information Interchange', which is just a bunch of numerical substitutes for letters, numbers and punctuation. The other 'ascii' is a Greek word that means 'those without shadow at midday' and applies to people who live on the equator. You know, because they don't have shadows at midday due to the sun shining straight down on them.
This useless bit of information brought to you by me being bored.
