Morrowind. I've been sucked back into the world of the Elder Scrolls. It's a nice diversion from functions and derivatives. I'm running around with level 2 Bosmer Nightblade.
One thing that's bothering me is the behaviour of animals in the wilderness. When most animals see you, they charge and attack until dead. Animals have survival instincts that've been honed over millions of years of evolution and tend to be smarter than that when it comes to staying alive. I figure I can script some more realistic behaviour into them.
My first goal is the Netches. Netches are one of Morrowind's herd animals. They're basically giant flying jellyfish that occur in groups of one female with several males. They're generally peaceful but turn nasty quickly if attacked. I'm going to script in behaviour where if a male is attacked the rest of the herd will move away from it to try and distance themselves from the 'predator' which in this case is the player. But if a female is attacked all the local males will react and start attacking the player, which would be pretty fucken nasty to any character without decent poison protection.
