I went down the street to do my fortnightly concession to capitalism and got a small taste of celebrity in a small town. I was recognised once in the street and asked if I'd sobered up from the party yet. Someone in the supermarket congratulated me on being in the play and told me about how much her daughter enjoyed the show.
Later when I was talking to Mum, she said that the teller in the bank had seen her last name on her card and commented about how good the play had been.
All in all, I reckon this'll last another coupla weeks, and then it'll be back to sweet, sweet anonymity.
