I gave the local book store a call today, to see how my order was going. They were shocked. They had no record of me ordering anything. After I hung up, I called the technical book store in Melbourne and within five minutes had a copy of the book I needed on its way to me.
Important lessons learnt: if local businesses don't deserve your business, fuck them; credit cards are really neat; sleeping in until eleven in the morning is also really neat.
