After I got home from my adventure I sat down and watched The Third Man. This movie's probably gunna get some renewed attention with The Quiet American coming out recently.
I've seen bits of The Third Man before. They showed it to us in media class back in high school as an attempt to explain light, I think. I didn't really get it back then and I couldn't remember it was what we'd been shown until I saw the scenes again.
As far as I can tell, the film deserves all the praise it gets. And Orson Welles is amazing. All through the movie they talk about his character as if he's this massive personality who gets things done, motivates others, moves mountains. And when you see him, you see exactly that. When he's on screen he dominates everything, which isn't a bad thing because that's exactly what the character does.
