Speaking of the life of Christ, there was a documentary on the ABC a while back where they were testing the details of crucifixion to see if it was possible that Jesus coulda survived his stay nailed to the slats of wood. They did this by erecting a cross, tying someone to it and monitoring thier vitals with those electrode thingies.
But you see, the cross is a fallacy. The way Christians see the cross is a stylisation of how the Romans actually crucified people. What Jesus was hung on woulda been two poles lashed together and rested on the ground like an X, his arms and legs nailed so he would have been spread-eagled. The cross we have now was a creation of the Church about a thousand years ago to move the image of God and Christ further away from the earth.
So while I admire the hell out of the researchers for the effort they put into the project, any findings they had woulda been flawed because of a lack of research.
