Since coming to the dungeons of doom in search of the amulet I have experienced hunger like never before. I really should have brought more food than one ration. I'd think bout eating the cat that came with me, but my god Set would probably have something to say about that.
I've found a community of gnomes living in the dungeons, in a series of mines a few levels deep. They are hostile, and they are edible. I'm called a barbarian because I am 'uncivilised'. I wonder what they would call me if they saw me feasting on the corpses of fallen gnomes as thier comrades look on and charge toward me, weapons drawn, only the fall to me sword and my teeth the same way. I've eaten entire towns of them, and yet it's not enough. Still I hunger.
I tried appealing to Set, converting the temple in the gnomish town to him. He gave me an enchanted axe but left me hungry still.
Now I am at what I think is the bottom on the gnomish area. I have to take off all my armor to get through a gap to where I can see some kind of gemstone. It's grey. I think this is what they're all guarding. I wonder where the amulet is. I wonder if I'll ever be satiated again.
