Rehersal was indeed interesting. There were a coupla times where I was standing up there thinking 'I don't know what the fuck I'm doing'. I felt like an imposter. We started out with an explanation of the set. It isn't up yet, but there's an outline on the floor where all the stuff will be. We did our lines on stage with a bit of direction from Carl. Then he'd tell us to do it over again with some changes. We worked through a coupla scenes, stopping and starting, moving on when he thought we'd had enough. Carl's the director. He was in the last production we did as a Napoleonic-type lunatic who tried to manipulate everyone into doing what he wanted. He's nothing like that in real life, thank Christ. He actually works at the centre so he's doing this in his spare time and has directed Twelfth Night before for some university students. He's really helpful, knows what he's doing and doesn't use that as a weapon against the people who don't. But still. He's asking me to do things, showing me how to do things, and I had no idea how to do them.
