There are only so many stories that can be told. This is a fact. When you're a writer you have to accept that the story you're telling has been told before. The details may be different, but the essential formula you're using has been used over and over in the past. This is why after thousands of years stories told to the ancient Greeks are still recycled and retold: because they have something in common with all story-telling and perhaps are closer to the distilled nature of stories than anything created today. That's why the Bible is important beyond any status given to it by religion and historians.
We have our first Shakespere rehersals tonight.
