Mum's going away for the weekend. And she's leaving Dad here. He's not a massive pain. He can do most things himself. It's just finding the way to tell him that he can't do certain things and they need to be done for him, without getting insulting or patronizing, that leads to difficulties. Mum was tired a few days ago and didn't get around to washing the dishes so he decided to do them. He started getting the plates out of the sink and ended up dropping knives and forks all over the floor. So we had to go in there and pick them up for him and tell him to sit down and watch television. The dishes got done eventually. I won't do the bloody things. Never could do them well enough for Mum's liking.
