Here's the plan for attack. I'm going to put the hard drive into the case and set the jumpers to master. Using a boot disk I'm going to partition and format the drive. Then I'm going to set it as slave, boot up with the one I'm using now and import the files I want to keep across onto one of the logical partitions on the larger drive. Then I take out the smaller drive, put it away for safe keeping and use only the larger drive. I'm paranoid that two drives is going to give me power problems again.
