Anyway. There was an election yesterday. Or maybe the day before. I don't keep track. Of the days, I mean. Some fat old man in a suit won. I don't know him and he doesn't know me. Someone like me would only know someone like him if we were related. Hell, even our local member only visits the town during election time. My parents didn't even know his name. I guess that's what you get for living in a regional electorate. I didn't vote. I never do. Well, I can't now. If I do show up to vote they'll say 'how come you missed all these other elections?' and then I'll get hit with lots of fines. What gets me is its perfectly legal to submit a dead vote. You can walk in there, get your name checked off and walk out. But if you decide to stay home you have to pay money. That's fucked up.
