My ranting about Quake III earlier has instilled within me a need to play it again. I don't know why. I don't like it all that much. It's pretty, though. The water model is impressive as hell. If you have it, try using the machinegun while swimming. Amazes me every time I see it. Oooh. Aaah. Shiney. But I don't like the gameplay that much. It seems to be more of the same running and bouncing shit. And the last fight sucks balls.
