Okay. Unless don't give a shit about games you probably know that Blizzard has announced a new massive multiplayer online roleplaying game titled World of Warcraft. I'm of two minds over the whole thing. Firstly I'm thinking that perhaps Blizzard have finally lost it. They had a shining moment with Starcraft and the original Diablo, but lost the plot. Like the market needs another of these things, especially when they fail so readily. Look at the releases of Anarchy Online and that World War Two game.
But then. This won't be out for another two years at least. Perhaps by then the technology and people's understanding of how to get the best from it will be ready for something like this. And Blizzard do have experience with large scale networking. Not that Battle.net's a complete success or anything, but it does work most of the time. And looking at the information they do seem to be concentrating on playability and accessability over everything else, which is typical for the company. Maybe all this will work.
Hell, I dunno.
