I went for a walk yesterday afternoon to try and convince my body it was as tired as my mind felt. Ended up in the newsagents and bought this magazine about being a writer. It had a list of agents in there, including one I've been thinking of contacting to represent my manuscript. They had a little advice in there about what authors should do, including that someone writing should have an idea of the market and which publishers publish what. Now if I knew that, I wouldn't need an agent. Just strikes me as a little odd. Anyway, good fiction is timeless. You can read it again and again and it has nothing to do with fashion.
