Lucky had a wasting disease caused by his thyroid over-producing a metabolic hormone. That's why he was so skinny and always hungry. He had no muscle bulk left and the blood vessels in his back legs were irreversably damaged; why he couldn't do more than lift his head by the time the Vet opened and we could get an appointment. The Vet told us the condition could be controlled he wouldn't recover properly. So we came home without him.
